What's been happening in Bay Fibers Studio over the first three months of 2020?
Thanks for your checking out my studio, and for being a supporter of my work. Because of all of you, I'm setting my 2020 goals even higher than I had planned!
Looking Back
After taking a much needed break in January, I started February feeling completely recharged, and I think it really showed in my new pieces. Thanks to all the new faces who’ve left me compliments on my work over the past few months, and big thanks to all my new collectors! The first quarter is typically a slow couple of months, so it was an awesome feeling to head into March with three originals sold already and another commission happening right now!
Looking In
What’s going on right now? How about a sneak into the new birds series I’m working on?! I’m calling it “Wild Wings” at the moment, but that’s a working title… We’ll see if it flies. The concept pulls from my traditional wildlife illustrations which I’ve been honing over the years, but stretches it into more expressive imagery based on the color, structure and maybe a little of the “spirit” of each of the species. My goal is to keep the scientific accuracy of each species intact, but allow each bird’s individual character to emerge in each piece. I’ve got a few more I’m working on, here’s the latest...
I’m also expanding my work (literally!) into larger sizes for some installation proposals I have in the works. I can’t really give a lot of details at the moment, but they’re going to be big! Literally!
